Ellen Nelson, MSN, BSN, ADN, RN, APRN, PMHNP-BC
Ellen Nelson is accepting new clients ages 18 on up.
Ellen graduated from Maryville University of St. Louis with a Masters of Science in Nursing, specializing in psychiatric mental health as a nurse practitioner.
Ellen's role at Redeeming Grace Counseling is to:
- Prescribe Medications to her clients to help improve your mood for depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and other mood disorders.
- Assist with "weaning" off your psychiatric medications to try a natural/holistic route.
- Work with your Primary Care Provider as the Psychiatric Specialist in your medication needs.
- Order GeneSight Testing. GeneSight Psychotropic is a pharmacogenomic test which means that it analyzes how your genes may affect medication outcomes. The GeneSight test analyzes clinically important genetic variations in your DNA. Results can inform your healthcare provider about how you may break down or respond to certain medications commonly prescribed to treat depression, anxiety, ADHD, and other psychiatric conditions.
Her Bachelors of Science degree in Nursing was obtained at Chamberlain College of Nursing in Illinois. She has a plethora of experience in different areas of nursing, most recently in oncology research before obtaining her Masters of Science degree. Throughout her nursing career she has been an advocate of mental health, focusing on holistic care for all patients experiencing health issues. Mental health has been her passion throughout her career.
Ellen is a member of Sts. Anne & Joachim Catholic Church in Fargo. She converted to the Catholic faith back in 1982 and has been a member of the choir at Sts. Anne & Joachim. Ellen is continuing her passion of integrated holistic care by joining Redeeming Grace Counseling, adding in the spiritual along with the physical, mental, and emotional areas of treatment. She will be treating adults for both medication administration as well as therapy. Ellen has 10 children and 14 grandchildren spread around the country, which gives her a big reason to travel! She enjoys time at her lake home, traveling, reading, singing, spending time with her family, and staying in touch with friends.
